Hiddur Mitzvah: The Beauty of Sacred Objects in Judaism
The Gray Academy of Jewish Education, the grade five students of Gray Academy and the Jewish Heritage Centre have joined forces to create an exhibit of drawings that show the beauty, inspiration, and timelessness of the sacred objects of Judaism.
The drawings are a wonderful testament to the creativity and passion that each student has brought to the project. In the process they have acquired an appreciation of how archival collections are valuable sources for preserving community identity and history and imparting information to future generations. No doubt, this recognition and the playing out of their identities has been stimulated, nurtured, and nourished in their family environment, school and community.
The Gray Academy students should be proud of their dedication and efforts. Their participation is confirmation of the vibrancy and richness of Jewish culture and of their awareness that they are responsible for its future survival and growth.
