The
Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada, Inc. is an independent
organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the history,
experiences, achievements, culture, and religious life of the Jewish people
of western Canada
SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1, and perpetuating the memory of the Holocaust. We are currently
accepting applications for the position of:
GENERAL
MANAGER
Reporting to the President and the Executive Committee of the Board of
Directors, the General Manager is responsible for the administration and
financial management, the effective day-to-day operation of the
organization, and all of its services, in addition to facilitating,
organizing, and scheduling all Board and related committee meetings. SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1The General Manager
will also handle the administrative details for one or more Holocaust
programs.
A
detail-oriented person with excellent communication, organizational, &
time-management skills, and the ability to work independently, is required. Candidates must have:
1. The ability to read and write correspondence in
English.
2. A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and
Simply Accounting.
3. Experience in budget management.
Preference will be given to candidates with 3 or more years of non-profit
or charitable organization management experience. Proficiency
in Hebrew or Yiddish will be an asset. This position is a .6 or .8 position, and will involve some evenings as
required.

This is an ever-ongoing activity of the JHC, but is once again being actively acted on by our Archives and Acquisitions Committee. The JHC will preserve your family's collections and artifacts as they pertain to the Jewish history of Western Canada. Monty Hall recently pledged his collection to us. Preserve your history with us.
